Imo govt directs security agencies to fish out killers of 12
Deputy Governor of Imo state, Prince Eze Madumere, has directed the security agencies in the state to ensure that those responsible for the killing of 12 persons in Awara/Assa Communities in Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area of the state.
Daily Times recalls that 12 persons were killed while several others injured in cult clash between the two rivals, D-well and D-gbagbam in the affected communities.
It was also gathered that property worth millions of naira were destroyed and houses razed down as residents fled for safety.
Madumere who gave the directives on Wednesday when he visited the affected communities to ascertain the extent of damages, warned that perpetrators of the heinous crime would not go scot-free.
The deputy governor, who was visibly shock on the level of damage, described the action of the cultists as wicked, inhuman and devastating saying that there would be no escape for them.
The State Police Commissioner, Mr. Taiwo Lakuna, who accompanied the deputy governor to the troubled communities remarked that the situation has been brought under control.
Also, reacting, the Special Adviser to the state governor, on Niger Delta Affairs, Mr. Justus Ojika said that the crisis had brought sorrow and pains to the families of the deceased.
