We inherited Oliseh’s broken Eagles team – Siasia

Coach Samson Siasia has stated that he and his crew inherited a Super Eagles team that was already broken.
Following the resignation of Sunday Oliseh, Siasia was mandated to take charge of the Eagles’ two 2017 Africa Cup of Nations double header against Egypt.
A 1-1 draw in Kaduna and a 1-0 win for Egypt in Alexandria, saw the Eagles crash out of the qualifiers.
According to an online medium, Siasia expressed his disappointment that the Eagles crashed out but praised his players for their performance in both legs.
He also went on to congratulate Egypt for the victory.
“Egypt deserved to win in the Alexandria game. I congratulate them for the victory and I thank Nigeria’s players for their performance,” Siasia said.
“We are very disappointed. We couldn’t do it. We inherited a broken team, which we couldn’t fix. We only mended it.
“We were not lucky right from the first game in Kaduna, but that’s what God wanted it to be, we can’t question God.”
