West Ham have not been awarded an away penalty in FOUR seasons

A data scrape revealed that the Hammers got less spot-kicks than any other Premier League side while on the road.
They have only been awarded nine penalties in the last four campaigns — all of them at the Boleyn Ground.

The report by Wharf also found that teams are significantly more likely to be awarded spot-kicks at home than they are away.
Home teams won a staggering 58% of all awarded penalties over the last four seasons.
The report by Wharf hints that refs are more likely to cave into crowd pressure and give decisions that favour the home team.

Penalties
United's penalties were split 50/50 between home and away games

Manchester City came a close second to West Ham, being awarded a mere six penalties away compared with 20 at the Etihad.
But troubling data also showed that the disparity between penalties awarded at home and away decreased for other members of the Premier League elite.
Over the last four seasons, City rivals Manchester United were awarded ten at home, but also ten away.
The pattern also emerged for Arsenal who have had 18 penalties awarded over the last four seasons, with nine of them coming away and nine at the Emirates.
The 1:1 home/away ratio might suggest that refs are more likely to give favourable decisions to bigger clubs away from home than to smaller teams like West Ham.
